Sabine's First Birthday

I can’t believe my youngest is already 1. Time goes by so much faster the second time. With Lou, I was always counting down the moments until the next ‘milestone’. May 16th my little Sabine Rose turned one. Having my two dream girls over the past year was everything I’d hoped it would be and more. Leaving the house and getting anywhere on time as it’s difficulties, but nothing we can’t handle.

We keep our first birthday parties around here small and intimate, mostly just family. It’s overwhelming and over stimulating enough for a 1 year old, just being surrounded by 10-20 well known family members. Yet another party that is more for the adults present than the girl of honour!

For this party I chose a colour scheme rather than a theme (check out big sister Lou’s kitty ballet themed birthday last year).

I found this cute garland from Rifle Paper Co. First I hung it low for her photos and then moved it up to be the focal point. I left it up a few days… it was too sweet. I might just have to hang it in her room for a little while, too!

We started the party with the appetizers pictured here, but had a few salads and a burger station. Is it a party without donuts?? Had to order a dozen of these plus the custom floral cake, which was to die for. Peach Melba Raspberry. Tastes exactly like you’re dreaming of right now.

All of the above photos are by my lovely friend Paige Owen.
