Cornflower Clay "Cookies"

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baking soda

  • 1/2 cup corn starch

  • 3/4 cup warm water

You Will Need

  • saucepan

  • heat proof bowl

  • damp cloth

  • rolling pin

  • cookie cutters

  • baking sheet

  • Mod Podge

  • dried cornflowers

Instructions

  1. Mix the 3 ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat until a dough forms. It will take around a minute or two.

  2. Transfer mixture to a heat proof bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let sit until cool.

  3. Knead the dough into a nice pliable consistency. Sprinkle your surface with corn starch and roll out the dough (much like cookies). Use your cutters and place the ‘cookies’ onto the baking sheet.

  4. Put in the oven at 175F for around an hour, rotating once halfway (careful not too over or under cook). Once they’re dry, let them cool on the counter.

  5. Brush a layer of Mod Podge onto each cookie and sprinkle with your dried cornflowers. Let dry again!
