Big leaps

Every week feels like brand new around here. So many changes in leaps and bounds. Sabine especially. She used to be such a quiet baby, and now she non stop chatters all day long. Sometimes we actually make out a real word. But, 99% of it is wonderful baby blabber. This summer was a big one for our family (though, some thing tells me I’ll be saying that every year).

She went from walking to full sprinting so quickly. Everything seems to happen much sooner with her than her older sister, but when I actually look back on when Louella reached milestones, they’re right on the same schedule. I think it just feels faster because so much has been going on. The summer was full and luscious and loud and fruitful and hot and peaceful and all the most wonderful things at once.

With fall fast approaching, and our ‘adults only’ trip coming up in October, I’m trying to slow the pace in September. Less on the calendar. Not that I’m complaining, it was a fun and generally balanced pace through the summer. I’d just like to spend a little more leisure time with family.

We have a lot on the agenda this fall: ending our breastfeeding journey, weaning off soothers and potty training). A few big mountains I have not been looking forward to ascending…

How long can I put these things off? Well, the breastfeeding… it’s getting on time. Sabine is such a snacker; it’s all day, every day. Plus, Jakob and I will be in California for 5 days, so if I haven’t weaned her by then, that trip is sure to do it! I would like to do it before hand so I don’t spend my trip engorged, lol.
